Lake Windermere

Have a great time with water sports and activities all summer long on the Columbia Lake, Columbia River Wetlands and Lake Windermere located right in our surrounding back yard. The adventure never stops when you are waterskiing or wake boarding behind your speed boat, kayaking or canoeing through the wetlands or spending the day the beach. There is something for everyone to take part in.

Within a short distance from Copper Point Resort are three magnificent beaches.

James Chabot Provincial Park is just down the hill when coming into Invermere and there you will find the broad sandy beaches bordering Lake Windermere. This public beach attracts all visitors searching for great swimming, windsurfing, sailing and fishing.

Kinsmen Beach is within walking distance of Invermere’s quaint and charming downtown. Anyone concerned about too much exposure to the sun will appreciate the grove of trees evenly throughout the beach and grass areas. With a clearly defined and somewhat shallow swimming area, this is a great place for families with younger children. There is something for everyone at this beach including a small playground, floating dock with slide, Pynelogs cafe, volleyball sand court and boat launch.

Windermere Beach is just a leisurely walk from the Town Centre of Windermere offering a lot of family fun. There is a playground for the children, open grass spaces for throwing the frisbee and picnic tables.

There are also several public boat launches and storage facilities throughout the Invermere and Windermere areas.
